A high-precision 8.0-megapixel CCD captures the most exquisite details of life, while the newly developed TruePic III image processor not only enhances image quality with sharper edges and reduced noise, especially in high-sensitivity shooting modes.
Extensive use of special lens elements, including ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens and aspherical lens elements, provides this compact lens with amazing 18X zooming capability, as well as sharp, natural imaging capability.
The CCD-Shift Image Stabilization automatically compensates for camera shake by shifting the CCD in the direction opposite to the shake. This minimizes the blurring caused by camera shake and is especially effective in super-telephoto shooting. At the same time, since the higher ISO sensitivity settings of up to 1600 (or even 6400*1 in the manual mode) mitigate the image blur caused by the subject movement, further enhancing the image stabilization effect.
In addition to "normal" high-speed sequential shooting of 7 frames per second (in 3-megapixel mode), the new SP-560UZ's also features super high-speed sequential shooting of up to 40 frames at 15 frames per second (in 1.2-megapixel mode). There's also a unique Pre-capture mode that lets you capture up to 10 frames before you release the shutter button so you'll never miss that perfect shot.
The SP-560UZ is equipped with a super macro function that lets you get nose to nose with your subjects (as close as 1 cm), making it possible to take gorgeous frame-filling close-up images of tiny subjects.
Sophisticated Face Detection Technology detects up to 3 faces at a time and adjusts the focus and exposure appropriately while the Shadow Adjustment Technology optimally compensates for the brightness of the background. As a result, both the faces in the foreground and the objects in the background can be captured clearly. Another convenient tool for portrait shooting is "Smile Shot *3 which automatically takes 3 sequential pictures as soon as the subject smiles, making sure you never miss a precious moment.
The large 2.5-inch LCD monitor lets you enjoy big, easy-to-view images in
both shooting and viewing modes. And since the SP-560UZ also comes equipped with
a high-definition EVF (electronic viewfinder), you'll be able to check your
subject and frame your shot more precisely.
