Perfectly balanced for high mobility
VAIO S Series is the perfectly balanced mobile. It features a 13.3” wide screen and a built-in optical drive, but does so in a thin and lightweight mobile PC that weighs only 1.68* kg.

Long battery life
VAIO S Series operates 6 hours on its standard battery on a single charge. Since you can use it for long hours without recharging, it’s great for use on business trips and on campus. And when you charge it, you’ll be amazed at how fast — a 1.5 hour charge lets you operate for 4.8 hours. In Hibernation mode, the battery lasts for 3.5 months so you can start using without having to charge first.

Unique full-flat Sheet Battery
The optional Sheet Battery extends usage time to up to 12 hours. Attaching and detaching can be done even while the computer power is on and running on its standard battery, without interruption. It is also possible to dock the port replicator while the Sheet Battery is attached.

Performance switch
You can maximise speed using SPEED mode or maximise battery life using STAMINA mode. In SPEED mode, VAIO S Series uses AMD Radeon™ GPU* for maximum quality graphics at highest speed. STAMINA mode uses the integrated Intel® HD Graphics and optimises all settings to minimise power consumption so the battery lasts 60% longer.

Quick Boot in under 17 seconds
You can start using VAIO S Series right away. Quick Boot gets the Windows OS up and running as quickly as under 17 seconds.

High performance
Overall high performance is assured with the Intel® Core™ i5 Processor, as well as Dynamic Hybrid Graphics System using two graphics processors to best suit the application being run — using AMD Radeon™ GPU with dedicated VRAM*, or integrated Intel® HD Graphics 3000.

Advanced LCD
13.3” screen models offer either 1600 x 900 or 1366 x 768 pixel high resolution. Plus the anti-reflective glossy finish provides a high contrast image, and is easy on the eyes.

Quick Web Access
With Quick Web Access you don’t have to boot up the Windows OS. Just push the WEB button and VAIO S Series will let you start surfing the Web in an instant.

Connectivity with speed and compatibility
It’s easy to integrate VAIO S Series into a wide range of environments. Bluetooth® offers wireless connection of a Bluetooth mouse or headset, as well as other Bluetooth-enabled optional accessories. Wireless LAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n is supported for cable-free networking. And a wide selection of connectors are positioned on the side for easy connection, including USB3.0 and HDMI.

Backlit keyboard
The keyboard automatically lights up when used in dark places, making it easier to type in dimly lit rooms such as during your flight or in a conference room. The ambient light sensor even adjusts the screen brightness according to how much ambient light there is.

Touch pad with multi-gesture control
The touch pad supports Flick, Tap and Scroll touch gestures to make it easy to navigate your way around Web pages and application screens. The larger palm rest of the 15.5” models provide an even roomier, comfortable working area.
